GOVERNOR, HONGKONG.

Date 5th November, 1914.

The following telegram has been received from the

Secretary of State for the Colonies:-

November 4th. My telegram of November 1st you should also publish following state (Begins) The grave situation which has arisen with Turkey involves no religious question and the Lohammedan Holy Places of Arabia as well as shrines in Mesopotamia will be immune from attack or molestation by the naval end military forces of Creat Britain France and Russia nor will any hostile action be taken against the port Jeddah provided that the Coverment of Turkey does not interfere with the pilgrim traffic from the Tominions and Protectorates of H.M. the King.
